I’ve only just heard about Sashi and her condition. I’ve never been affiliated in the Supernatural fandom, I’ve only watched a couple of episodes; however, I do follow a few fans of the show. We run in completely different circles. And even though I’m pretty much a social butterfly when it comes to fandoms, I’ve never come across her whatsoever. Not even in passing, or a reblog.
Today I read a post in which she stated that she was turned down for Medi-Cal, and apparently this isn’t the first time. Her emergency bills couldn’t be covered and this is just one amongst the pile that keeps rising and rising the more she deals with her condition. It is ridiculously upsetting how expensive it is to be healthy or to stay alive. It really is, but so far, she and her friends have been able to raise more than 7,000 dollars toward a possible 30,000 procedure which will help her live.
It really goes to show that there are people on this website that care about one another. It really should remind you that no matter if you’ve never met in person, it is possible to develop strong feelings of whatever kind for someone without physical contact. An individual, of whom you’ve never even sat and had a coffee with, can make a huge difference in your life given the chance. Just the same, you can make an enormous impact on another person. All that we need is kindness and a helping hand.
Even if it’s a dollar, or five, or twenty like how I donated—every single cent counts. We can make a difference in this girl’s life. We can do something to really help someone out. Be the change you want to see in the world.
